What human reason can discern with regard to God’s Kingdom and to spiritual insight…consists chiefly in three things:
(1) knowing God
(2) knowing his father favor in our behalf
(3) knowing how to frame our life according to the rule of his law
This is a great distillation of God’s kingdom, and reminds me of two key passages in Scripture:
- Micah 6:8 - He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
- John 17:3 - And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
